| Payment |
- A 50% deposit is required to secure a course place.
- Ideally you will have paid the remaining course fee before attending the first day of the course. At the latest you can pay upon registration when you arrive but it delays the start of the course if everyone has to settle their fees on the first morning so please try to pay beforehand. The easiest/ speediest method of payment is via credit card (MC/Visa).
- If the total course cost has not been paid by the first day of the course (unless a prior agreement has been arranged) AMPM reserve the right to not allow you to continue.
|
| Cancellation rules |
- Candidates will be fully refunded without penalty if they cancel more than 28 days before the course is due to start.
- Cancellation within 14 – 28 days will result in no refund, but AMPM can transfer the course money to a later course (course transfers are only permitted once).
- Cancellation within 3 – 13 days will result in no refund but AMPM can transfer part of the course money to a later course (course transfers are only permitted once). A penalty fee of 400 euros will be charged to cover administration and last minute costs of change.
- Cancellation within 72 hours results in the loss of all monies without refund or transfer.
|
| Insurance |
- Personal insurance is not included. We recommend you have insurance cover in the event that you are not able to attend the course, and for your personal possessions.
|
| Health and Fitness |
- Due to many factors we cannot accept any person who is pregnant, has epilepsy or is a carrier of a communicable disease.
- If you have any medical or physical conditions that may affect your ability to participate fully in your course please call us for advice.
- It is your duty to inform AMPM of any changes in your Medical Fitness between booking and your course start date.
- You must inform the tutor or responsible person of any ongoing medication at the start of the voyage.
- Failure to disclose any conditions pertinent to the above Health and Fitness details may cause you to be taken off the course. The grounds for this will be that the person in command believes you are putting your own or other people’s lives at risks.
|
| For Master of Yacht courses: |
- If you are colour blind, affecting your ability to distinguish lights, you should consider having an eye test before your course. We recommend the ‘Lantern Test’ which is offered at no charge by most MCA approved doctors (contact AMPM for an international list of approved MCA doctors). If you cannot pass this test you will most likely be refused a Master of Yachts certificate.
|
| Weather Impact on Practical courses: |
- Due to the unpredictability of weather conditions beyond our control, practicals may have to be postponed to later dates at last minute.
