What is Yachtmaster 200 Tons (Ocean) Certificate?

The IYT Master of Yachts 200 Tons Ocean Certificate is a qualification that indicates that the holder has sufficient knowledge of celestial navigation, based on air navigation tables, to globally navigate using a sextant.
This course is MCA recognized.

Important information

Once the candidates has completed the theory course they are required to complete a 600 nautical mile Ocean passage and submit their sights with a passage plan, compass check and meridian passage to an IYT Ocean Yachtmaster Examiner for evaluation. Please note that this practical submission is not  included in the theory course package.

Acceptance onto the course does not automatically guarantee obtaining a IYT Yachtmaster Ocean Certificate.  All the prerequisites must be fulfilled and satisfactory standards achieved in all the modules.
